Après des études en Histoire et en Anthropologie à l’École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, elle se tourne vers la réalisation en intégrant la résidence européenne Artist@Work aux Ateliers Varan. Puis, elle poursuit sa formation au sein du Master de documentaire de création à Lussas (Ardèche), où elle développe son premier projet de film, Portrait d’un absent.&nbsp; Aujourd’hui basée à Marseille, elle fabrique des films où le récit et les experimentations photo-chimique s’entrelacent pour interroger nos relations au vivant. Sa pratique cinématographique se nourrit d’une approche documentaire au long cours. Depuis 2021, Margaux Sirven arpente la Zone industrialo-portuaire de Fos-sur-Mer, où elle mène une recherche visuelle et sonore en collaboration avec ses habitant.e.s.&nbsp;Elle co-réalise plusieurs projets avec Nina Almberg, documentariste sonore et autrice, dans lesquels elles explorent à travers la photographie, le film, et le documentaire sonore les dynamiques entre humains et non-humains dans cet espace industrialisé.&nbsp;Membre du Laboratoire L’Argent, elle privilégie l’utilisation de la pellicule 16mm et affectionne une approche artisanale de l'image en expérimentant divers procédés argentiques.
